Hi all,

So I've created a ticker that is being fed by an excel spreadsheet. I've got the ticker set to 'add' so whenever I click on a different row in the data source the new data is added to the end of the current data. This works great, however if I don't select a different data row then the current data just scrolls off-screen and does not loop.

I have looping enabled in the Data Source Manager. And the looping works fine when the ticker type is set to 'replace' but it doesn't work when set to 'add'.

Is there a way to enable this for the 'add' type ticker?

Works just fine here (build in Ticker)

Do you mean when using a ticker preset that's built into vmix? If so then neither of those have the ability to set the type as add or replace and it's only set as replace. So whenever you click a different data row it just makes any existing data disappear from the ticker and starts scrolling the new data from the beginning again...

I set my ticker up in GT Title Designer, and you can set it to 'replace' which does what I just described above, or 'add' which adds the newly clicked row's data onto the end of any existing data so it's more fluid.

But with it set to 'add' it doesn't seem like continuous looping of one row is possible.

Have you checked the clock icon in the title editor (=Ticker settings ) ?

Hi, yes I've checked those settings and this is what settings it shows with a preset ticker:

And this is what it shows with a custom made ticker:
02.JPG (49kb) downloaded 0 time(s).


I've tested this on both v22 and v23 with the same result. I've also recorded an example of what I'm talking about here:




The video shows the ticker running as 'add' first, then as 'replace' then as 'add' again. As you can see, the chosen content loops when in 'replace' mode, but not in 'add' mode.

Why not share the GT file and what vMix license do you have ?

Hey, I'm currently using the trial to see if it works for what I need, so it's the 'pro' license.

BTW XAML tickers and GT tickers are NOT the same !!

Both have presets ones in vMix but GT ones can be custom made with the GT editor

xaml tickers only have a time setting while GT ones can have a specfic direction, have a time settings and the textboxes can be manipulated in the designer etc

Your Gala-Ticker-Main ticker is working as it is supposed to

xaml tickers will not allow you to create this (well not easily any way) ;-)
