Hi.

I bought Newtek NDI HX Camera application in App Store for iPhone. I also installed it NDI Tools in https://www.ndi.tv/tools/ website.

I started vMix and pressed "Add Input" button and selected "NDI / Desktop Capture". A window popped up where I found the "NDI HX Camera" I added it but it only shows a black screen. What might be the problem? I also have the firewall turned off so that it does not interfere with the UDP port.

When I open Studio Monitor from NDI Tools, it instantly shows me a picture of my phone.

I using vMix versioon 22.0.0.69 x64.

For what it's worth, I've got the same here.

Signal works fine in NDI studio Monitor, but black screen in Vmix 22.

Hi,

Make sure when installing the tools that you tick the box for the NDI HX driver in the install options.
This is unticked by default and I believe it is built into Studio Monitor now which might explain why vMix can't see the source if it is showing up as blank.

Regards,

Martin

I reinstalled the NDI 4.0 tools, making sure the HX drivers are ticked.

But I still get a black screen in VMIX 22.0.0.69 x64

Note that I've tested it in another app supporting NDI 4.0 and it works too. I haven't checked yet in OBS.

Best

I found that there was a problem with the NDI Tools v3.8 installer. It did not always instal the HX driver, even if it was selected during the installation. I opened a ticket with Newtek on this.

https://fogbugz.newtek.com/default.asp?100695

The case remains open.

One other possibility is the iPhone app may only support NDI HX 2 which was only just released in NDI 4.0.
As vMix is using NDI 3.8, this may explain why it is not working.

We haven't gotten a chance to test the new app ourselves, so this is just a guess at this stage...

The NDI-HX Camera app from NewTek is using NDI-HX2 which requires NDI 4. The HX driver is for v1 devices, HX2 is different and requires the application be updated with the latest NDI SDK.

So what we can do? We need vMix to show Newtek NDI HX Camera picture and does Newtek Connect Spark work with the latest version of vMix?

I'm sure vMix will support NDI 4, just not quite yet...

There isn't anything you can do right now, NDI 4 support needs to be added to the application, once that happens it will work.

The NDI-HX Camera app is the first HX2 application that has been made available. Because of the new HX version, NDI 4 is required and there is no backwards compatibility fall back. All other products (high bandwidth NDI or NDI-HX v1) will continue to work as they normally would.

I don’t see the original NewTek NDI Camera app on the Apple App Store. I have had it installed since it came out. Is it still available for folks who need to connect to pre v4 NDI implementations?

Oh, please. Do the homework.

The new NDI|HX Cameras app leverages NDI 4.0

vMix 22 does not support NDI 4.0.

The 23 beta DOES support NDI 4.0.

Run the beta if you must.
