I'm looking at building a PC next month and am looking at a Ryzen 3900X or 3800X combo with a Nivida 2070 combo. Just curious about how this combo will perform with Vmix? Speculation?

Maybe something changed recently Example: https://forums.vmix.com/...18325-AMD-Ryzen-and-Vmix

Ryzen is a boogyman here and historically it hasn't performed as well as Intel with vMix, but it isn't inherently broken on it.
Ryzen 3000 series should be interesting just from a cost perspective. The $200 Ryzen 5 3600 beats or matches the $500 i9 9900k from leaked benchmarks.
The really exciting part of the Ryzen 3000 platform is PCIe 4.0, but not for GPU, but for storage bandwidth. Streaming and recording multiple 4k60p streams :)
I plan on testing a Ryzen 3000 with a 1660 TI.

render time is high for only 3 inputs. On the system i use for most small jobs, which uses an i5, i have max 3ms when only streaming with 6 sdi cams. On my 7700k system, render times stay under 10 when using 16 inputs sdi and dual0 recording + streaming.

Rendertime is affected by GPU isn't it ? could it be a PCI express issue with the Mobo chipset maybe also ?

If you have the right main board you don’t have problems with the pci lans. And the other point was the price of the main board and this was not correct becous you can use x470 with the new ryzen cpu and the price of the x470 are dropping down,.

Please note that Martin's comments were about the price of the mobo in Australia. He has been constant in his opinion that bang for buck atm the Intel based systems deliver, but that he is open to AMD based systems as prices and capability changes.

Honestly it sounds like they need to reach out to AMD to get some hardware to test against. You think they would have at least said, we can't comment on performance as we haven't tested it, but PCIe 4.0 bandwidth should be great for anyone streaming 4k and wanting to record...
