I think it is necessary to add a couple of channels even overlay ... if it is possible4 channel overlay becomes a little ... on social networks 1, 1 titles, 1 for the logo, and only one remains for the creative ... very little
 need +2 channel overlay.

 Sorry for my English

                @ vadim_d
Have you explored options with the "MultiView" feature within each Input?
(essentially providing you with 9 overlay channels, 5 upstream and 4 downstream)
It requires some prep and management, but the creative options are fairly plentiful unless you have specific downstream overlay requirements.
This, of course, does not apply to entry level versions of vMix.

Edit: the MultiView feature now has 10 Overlay channels (upstream) since the introduction of vMix Call for a total of 14 possible Overlays...

It is great to have the multiview feature for upstream keying, but they do not allow fade in and out and some of the other overlay features. Having the ability to have additional overlay channels I think would be a nice thing for a niche group of users to take advantage of.
Also, overlays do not interact with eachother well when previewing then transitioning to program. If input A is active on overlay 1, you cannot make input B preview'ed (right click) on Overlay 1. If this were to be fixed, it would help significantly in live environments when you aren't sure which input is active on what overlay, especially if spread on different color tabs.

is it ? when you have 10 layers in the multiview of an input that you can switch each off and on ? You can have "layers" in a title one uses in an overlay |

Additional overlays would be great unless someone can tell me how to do the following:
 My configuration:

 Overlay 1 is a scoreboard
Overlay 2 are my commentators (you can see their heads)
Overlay 3 is a graphic I put on the stream every once in a while
Overlay 4 is a replay overlay

I like the overlays because of the way they transition in and sit on top of whatever is below and can be activated with a shortcut.

Also, because we can now stream to multiple destinations, with each stream capable of having a unique overlay, with my current configuration I'm already maxed out.

I'd like to be able to put a different commentator for each stream I'm sending. The commentators speak in different languages.

 Why limit to 4??

                +1 for 2 more
Updating this. My +1 is a year old. Since then v24 has come out with more stingers and no more overlays. More overlays have been requested by quite a few people, but I haven't seen any requests for more stingers. Has this request gone awol ?

Updating this again, still waiting. No feedback, no developments and none of the workarounds people suggest can replace the need for more overlays.
