Hi Jamesbowers,

Please note, the builds described in the above video will likely be fine for moderate productions and/or for use with the vMix Basic or vMix Basic HD editions, however, for best results with vMix, especially for more complex productions, you are better to build according to the vMix Reference Systems as listed on the Website here:
https://www.vmix.com/pro...x-reference-systems.aspx
Depending on your overall requirements will determine the nature and power of processor and GPU required, however, vMix works best with Intel CPUs and a dedicated NVIDIA Gaming graphics card, not that there is anything against AMD products, just that they have some design differences that vMix is not optimized for. Of note, the GPU is one of the most critical components that vMix uses, while it can use the integrated graphics of Intel CPUs, asking too much from the CPU can be problematic for elaborate productions.

I hope that helps to explain some of vMix's recommendations.

Another point to pay attention is with the PCI lanes. Most of the i-x Intels only have 16 lanes. Adding a GPU makes full use of the lanes. Any additional card will get into competition with the lanes. So if you need to add more cards (capture cards, M.2 memory...) you want to make sure that the lanes number support it.
Example:
16x GPU
4x M2
4x capture card
= 24 lanes needed if they don't want to get into competition.

The Xeon series of processors is giving you 40 lanes on many models. Make sure that the MoBo supports that.
