System info:

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Intel Core i7-3770 3.4GHz
16Gb DDR3 ram (2x8Gb chips)
Intel HD Graphics 4000 (onboard)

Capture Device:

Avermedia DarkCrystal HD Capture SDK Duo C129

Media Source:

HDMI Cable from second PC video out (I will call it PC2)

Issue:

vMix 64bit running

Add input > Capture > AverMedia HD Capture 1 , Resolution 1280X720 (this is the output resolution of PC2) , PAL 50i or 25p , input default , video format default , Deinterlacing Blend , Audio device Built In Audio

Without VMR selected vMix displays black screen only
With VMR selected vMix displays black screen with "NO SIGNAL AverMedia" text

Troubleshooting steps I have performed:

PC2 can be viewed on TV HDMI input (desktop and mouse activity in realtime with audio)
PC2 can be viewed on PC via HDMI capture (port 1) on Aver Mediacentre (desktop and mouse activity in realtime with audio)
vMix shows AverMedia HDMI1 (port 1) as selectable
Have repeated all above steps with HDMI port 2 and both Analogue inputs on the C129 with the same results

This is all very new to me and I am praying that there is a simple setting that I am missing as all of this hardware is brand new and represents a major financial investment on behalf of my client.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Just a guess but make sure your screen resolution on PC2 is video friendly. For your set-up it should be 1280x720 and 25 or 50Hz.

Thankyou for the response Brian,

I have changed the output resolution on PC2 to 1280x720 @50Hz and run all previous troubleshooting options with the same results.

Also, I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers directly from AverMedia and also tried running vMix 32bit with no change in results.

Update: I have noticed both vMix and AverMedia make reference to Direct Show so I have downloaded the SDK suite for Win7 and will install that tomorrow to see if that helps.

In the meantime, if there's anything else that I can try?
