What is the best 4-channel SDI capture card that works flawless with vMix?

Maybe someone tested both of these:

-Magewell Pro Capture Quad SDI
-Blackmagic Decklink Duo 2 SDI

Low latency is the most important thing for me and of course stability.

I want to use it also for 720P 25fps

I've got the Decklink Duo2 and like it a great deal.
All the specs though favor the Magewell in terms of lower latency.
But if money is an issue, the Decklin Duo2 works fine for me. No regrets.

Check the Duo supports 720p25, it may be only 50.

You are right, no 25 or 30, I just saw a review from PTZ optics.

We are running VMix with both the Magewell and the Blackmagic Decklink Duo2.
We use the Magewell to provide 4 primary inputs and the Decklink for two additional inputs as well as 2 HDSDI outputs.
The advantage to the Blackmagic of course is that you can configure the 4 spigots as inputs or outputs.
The biggest real-world advantage of the Magewell is that it just works without any configuration issues. The Blackmagic on the other hand is rather finicky to get set up correctly. The Magewell costs more but you will love how easily and reliably it works and I'd predict that you will not regret spending the extra money.

Hi, I'm also looking to get a 4 ch SDI capture card. I see the BMD Decklink Duo 2 at $500 and the Magewell Pro Capture Quad SDI at $900. Why the price difference?
It would be nice to be able to configure an output on the BMD card, but I'm afraid of latency so would probably try and use one of the outputs on my 1060 video card anyway.
and I see Yuan quad sdi captures now with either hardware or software compression. which is better?
fyi, this will go in a Thunderbolt 3 enclosure to my Asus GL502VM laptop.

Hi, we are trying to set the card (decklink duo 2) with 3 inputs and 1 output using the Vmix software but we can not get the desired result. We would like some suggestions on how to set up the card used with the Windows 7 64 bit operating system and the vmix version 22. Thank you

Did you get an answer? Have you tried one of thise configurations?
I'm about to go that rout too,TB3 enclosure to a laptop, and wondering what did you find?

Thanks,

Eli

Hi, I got the Akitio node lite, had a bmd decklink duo 2 in it but had issues getting 1080p60 from my 2 Marshall cv200's. Bmd media express kept reading them as 30p and showed no picture. So returned that for the magewell pro capture quad sdi and all working. The bmd worked at lower resolutions like 1080p30 but we're shooting dancing and sports and really want the higher frame rate.
Another user shared he had a similar problem and believe the Marshall's are closer to security cameras not broadcast so may have a slightly different protocol. Either way the magewell likes them and I'm sticking with this.
Side note: I also like the magewell capture express software much better. It auto detects what resolution your input is, and displays your video, where bmd media express you need to configure to match whatever you think is coming in. Much easier with our lipstick cameras. Also big is the magewell ability to view the video and record an input up to 4gb, all while using my inputs in Vmix. Bmd will display a message the input is already and use.
I'm happy with my choice.

Did you resolve this?
I believe you need to use the bmd desktop video setup software. In the output configuration select sdi 1,3, 2,4 and so on. (yes they'll be out of order) Their defaulted to shared sdi ports and you need to do this to use 4 inputs independently. Sorry don't have my bmd card anymore so can't say exactly how.
What the user guide doesn't tell you is the card auto detects your input resolution then displays it in desktop video setup.
So once you do the above, you can use 3 inputs and in the desktop setup configure the resolution you want on the output port.
One very strange thing also, if you didn't find out the input ports on the back are in a weird order. If I recall from top to bottom it was like input 1, input 3, input 2, input 4.
Maybe someone out there with the decklink duo 2 card can confirm.
