To the best of my knowledge, as someone who uses the NewTek NDI SDK, all NDI encoding/decoding that uses Processing.NDI.Lib.dll (as found in the NDI folder in vMix) is performed by the CPU, not the GPU. vMix may be using the GPU for other purposes in your scenario, but I think the limits on NDI encoding will come from your CPU.

nice, that is kind of what I thought, but yes I too am suspecting VMIX may need the GPU for other things.

it might just require some testing on my part. I might go ahead and get the 1050ti card, and then pull out a 1070 and 2080 from my other machines to compare.

Thanks for the response zenvideo

Note really A > D, but definitely SDI > IP.

24 SDI channels, presuming 1080p60, is going to each a lot of bandwidth. You'll need 5 gbps Ethernet.

I'm curious to know how you get that much SDI I/O into one chassis? Three 8-port cards? What mobo supports that?

yes thank you lol, SDI/analog audio - IP, not analog to digital.

We are running this on a 10gb network with a 10gb pcie card to a 10gb router. My other vmix machines are connected to 1 gb ports on the switch not pulling more than 8 full res NDI sources at a time as to not overload the network.

Yes I'm using 3 8 channel pcie cards (decklink quad 2)

EVGA x299 Dark has 5 16x slots + 1 4x slot

ASUS x299 Sage Mobo has 7 16x slots

I'm also converting 32 channels of audio to NDI as well over a big audio interface (thus the analog audio part) Currently only using 16 but planning on going up to 32 eventually so the testing is for 32.
