I’ve got a nice 1080p60 vMix PC for YouTube Live. I have been paying for a service to send my 720p stream through a third party to get simultaneous Facebook Live from the one PC. I would like to cancel that service to save the monthly fee and purchase a 2nd PC to feed the 720p stream to Facebook.
If I use CPU encoding can I run this without a discrete GPU? It will save me a couple hundred bucks. I’m not clear in reading on this whether I really need a GPU.
I’m considering using NDI to save on an additional BM Deck Link card as well.

Why dont you just use the second streaming channel. vMix can handle 3 streamings at the same time. Best regards!

I have never been successful to stream to YouTube and Facebook simultaneously with one vMix. I can do one or the other but any way I have tried them together gives an error.

If im correct the facebook API wont allow you to stream to another channel at the same time. If you use a regular rtmp stream it works tho.

I’ll try this again but I tried using this method before and could not get it to work either. I doubt it matters but I recently updated to v22. I’ll try again tonight and report back.

I was in fact able to make this work by using a Custom RTMP setup for YouTube AND Facebook. I think the mistake I have been making was to use the YouTube Live integrated setting and trying to add a Custom RTMP Facebook stream. Using both as a Custom setting, I was able to stream to both destinations.
I feel foolish - but glad that I came here and that you all were so helpful!
