I notice a delay when playing back QuickTime clips (mov).
When i cut to such clip, there is about 0.3 second delay before it starts to play. Also stopping it shows a delay, sometimes with a jump of the last frame.
When I convert this same clip to mpeg or to AVI the pause/play works instantly, even though these converted files can be much larger.

what can be the issue here?

This is a limitation of QuickTime unfortunately, the response to play/stop commands is not real time and
can take a fraction of a second to register.

Hi Martin,
But is this delay to the start-stop control a Windows issue? Because it does not happen on mac and using the quicktime player or VLC on mac.
And testing on the same windows machine as above shows similar delay in the quicktime player for windows, however, VLC playback is good without delay.
I have a feeling it can be improved somewhere...

Rob
