hi martin,

i am testing hangout on air now with hd 720p streaming ! but how do i get hangout to recognize vmix audio. in version 1 of hangout i managed to do that, now i have to hard wire the headphone mini jack through to the mic input. only then hangout will recognize the input.

is there a better way?

i am using win 8. also: vmix will give an error when i have not hard wired an input just like a headphone or a mic. is there a way to set the audio to loop through vmix audio and see this as an input.

would be good to have an output audio setting in vmix that i can control seperately for streaming purposes, just like the video output.

greetings,
stefan

Hi Stefan,

You can try out Virtual Audio Cable which is a way of linking audio devices together without using physical cables.
http://software.muzychenko.net/eng/vac.htm

From what I can tell the vMix audio error is due to the soundcard drivers not fully supporting windows7/8.
I would check to see if updated drivers are available on the manufacturers web site.

There is actually a vMix Audio device available, however it is not recognised by google hangouts.

Alternatively you can usually enable a "Stereo Mix" option in the sound settings, that will record all playing audio:
If it is not visible, sometimes it is hidden in the control panel:

1. Open Control Panel.
2. Go to Sound.
3. Under the Recording tab right click anywhere and click "Show Disabled Devices"
4. Right click the Stereo Mix option and select Enable.

Regards,

Martin
