Apologies if this has been raised before, I did a search but found nothing.
I'd like vMix to load with a pre-configured preset. Is this possible?
I know I can use "Last Preset" and a "Saved Preset" but I want to "idiot proof" it for other users, and maybe even myself as the dementia takes hold.
Did I mention I wanted to load with a preset ................? ;-)

Brian, first setup all inputs and graphics then save this as preset. next time you want to use it just double click the preset file it self instead of the main program short cut. hope this is what your after. I have done this for a clients system that runs 24/7 on a local government channel in case of power outs. it's loaded in the windows startup folder. Works very well. of course you will need to have external or full screen activated settings set if you need them in vMix's control panel.

I have done this with the past two versions of vMix for several months and GENERALLY it works, BUT...
We use the screen capture utility with a Mac running ProPresenter and we want to capture the secondary monitor in vMix to show screen slides, song lyrics etc. The screen capture utility works great, but vMix does NOT remember the settings of the screen capture utility.
Each time I run vMix to record a sermon (twice weekly) I select Open Preset and select last the preset I've saved with the screen capture input configured as I wanted it. But each time I have to close that input and re-add it with the appropriate settings.
The screen capture utility is remembered in the preset, but the appropriate screen to capture and the frame rate are not recalled.
So, hope it works well for your purpose, but it only works partially for mine.

Thank you Egriswold. That is exactly what I was looking for.
I would never have discovered that on my own. I suppose double clicking on a Word or Excel file opens the app but I'd not have thought to try it with a config file.
Many thanks.

This was asked for along time now...I also wish that we had that capability....I have vMix set to auto launch when windows boots, but I always have to go and select the preset I want, which is mostly the last, as it is used on a PC in the church, and seldom ever changes...2 cams, 1 title input.I wish that vMix would launch and just load the last preset by default, or have a setting to do so.....I also use Panel builder, and I have that set to auto launch with windows, and set to load last preset, and it works great....All I do is hit the power button and walk away, and everything launches, except for vMix not loading the last preset.....wish Martin and his hard working team would add this feature....

As wel as the ability to autoload vmix with a certain preset you can use the last.vmix preset also (a simple pc search would give you the location)
hint: C:\Users\yourpc\AppData\Roaming\last.vmix

Hello, I use the automatic loading of a vmix project (properly configured as needed).
1.- Create a shortcut of your vmix saved preset 2.- Press windows + R keys, a search option opens 3.- write this: (shell:common startup) without parentheses and then accept, a folder opens. 4.- copy the shortcut of the vmix project and paste it into the folder that opened. Ready, every time Windows starts it will load the vmix project automatically.

how do you even save a preset like a grahic with your logo on it? I tried the save preset button in the upper left hand corner and it still disapeared on opening this software back up. Had to laod it agaiin. I don't understand. Cant you save your lower thirds and camera and stuff? This software is so hard to understand and your videos go too fast for older people to grasp.
