Hi Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I can't get my X-Keys Joystick (XK-12) joystick to work a Virtual Input (vMix Pro 22.0.0.35 X-Keys XK-12 Joystick) 1) I plugged in my new USB joystick to my Windows 7 computer and the drivers installed automatically. 2) I created a new input (a still image) and went into PTZ settings for that input and selected Virtual PTZ and hit the connect button. 3) I know vMix is at least seeing the Joystick because I went into vMix settings and used the find button to find the Joystick. But when I try to use the Joystick on the input nothing happens. Am I missing a step? See the screen capture video. Screem capture video. Thanks! Rowby

Rowby Try using the Zoom function for that input to zoom in a bit. That should work. You can't pan or tilt an image that is all ready full screen. - Tom

I would suggest that in a real production you would not run the two applications together..... I would not see this as a bug.

- Tom Thanks Tom, Ok. I created an input with a 4k image. And am trying to tilt pan and zoom, and I can't make it happen. This is the first time I've used a joystick with vMix so maybe I am missing a step. I am tilting all angles and twisting the joystick to zoom -- but no dice. Tom -- or Anybody Else -- See my video capture. Video Screen capture.Am I a Streaming Idiot? Update: Here's a video screen capture showing that the image is large enough to do zooming and right left etc panning. I am able to do it via the virtual ptz settings plus and minus settings and arrows. But the same does not translate to the X-Keys joystick. Here is the "4K" image -- video capture Update: I think I'm getting closer to a solution. I see in the Settings/Shortcut "MIDI" settings that I have nothing selected. But I am not sure exactly what steps to take. And what does it mean with the "Channel" and the Checkmark. I've searched the documentation - but can't figure it out. Even when I select each of the 2 x-keys I can't get them to show up permanently in the "white area". Please look at this screen capture and tell me the next steps to set up both of my two X-Keys Midis. Perhaps there is a link to detailed step-by-step settings..... A step-by-step video for adding midi devices would be helpful -- if someone has a link to something like that. midi settings.png (425kb) downloaded 3 time(s).

Check to make sure the latest GeForce drivers are installed as that is what we have tested with. Also make sure you aren't exceeding the onboard memory. The 750 (non Ti) models usually only have 1GB of memory, which can quickly be used up if vMix is using a lot of inputs. For example, we noticed this issue on Tom's PC on the Streaming Idiots show, but it seems this was caused by over 80 inputs in the preset leaving no memory for the designer to function properly.

The PTZ control requires adding the shortcuts to associate the joystick with all the movement commands. We have a template already configured for this task you can find under Settings -> Shortcuts -> Templates. The templates associate all the shortcuts with Preview, so after importing them make sure the input you wish to move is in Preview in vMix, has been connected to the Virtual PTZ and it should work.

Thanks Martin -- That did the trick. My Joystick is now working nicely with the Virtual PTZ feature. And yes, I see how I must have the input in Preview... So now I have my joystick ALMOST working -- which is gives me a Joy-ous Holiday. It's my ZOOM that is not working. Please see this video capture. video screen capure. Zoom issueAt the end of the video I show my settings..... Thanks! UPDATE: I see now my Xkeys 128 T-bar is not working with my separate X-Keys Joystick. What are the steps needed to have two midis working at the same time. (I know that perhaps this should be in the hardware forum, but since I am using vMix 22 I am posting this here because I thought it might be a version 22 bug. )Anyone can respond -- it doesn't have to be Martin :) Cheers, Rowby

Am I correct in that: Virtual PTZ works only with Pro & 4K editions and not HD, SD & Basic?

Rowby Hi, I only have one X-keys 24 so I'm not sure but if you go to: Settings > Shortcuts > MIDI Settings > Channel Mappings you can set your midi channel. I suppose if you choose separate midi channels for your two devices, it will work

Rowby Hi, I only have one X-keys 24 so I'm not sure but if you go to: Settings > Shortcuts > MIDI Settings > Channel Mappings you can set your midi channel. I suppose if you choose separate midi channels for your two devices, it will work Thanks, rudyengels, That solved it. I now have both x-key units working. Since my X-Keys T-Bar was already installed (and had Shortcuts assigned to it) I assigned it to Channel 1. And I made my new X-keys Joystick Channel 2. So now all of THAT is working with vMix 22 I still can't get my Zoom in and out to work with the Joystick. Right and Left and Tilt work fine with the template. But no luck so far with zoom in and out. Any suggestions on what I need to do to get Virtual PTZ Zoom in and Out to work with vMix 22? Link to YouTube video with PTZ working ALMOST perfectly (no zoom working yet....) joystick zoom.jpg (39kb) downloaded 2 time(s)....Rowby.

Updating my NVIDIA drivers did the trick. I was about a year old on the driver. After the update, the GPU is at about 50% utilized with render times in the sub 50ms range. Thanks again guys/gals :) Originally Posted by: admin Originally Posted by: mavrick816 Bug submission. Adobe charges you 50 $ per month for their Creative Cloud or 30 $ per month for any single software product like Photoshop or Premiere. The 60 $ for one year coverage of updates are a joke compared to many other professional media products. And as I said before: you do not need to install the beta and pay now. Wait until NAB and the final vMix 22.
