Multple select and move?

This will probably be covered in the forthcoming docs, but how do you multi-select all elements and reposition on the workspace? I can select the blocks but cannot seem to move all elements together. This seems particularly the case for the existing templates ad when you have multiple objects within multiple layers.

Multiple objects in the same layer can be selected using the usual Shift or Ctrl keys while clicking the mouse.
And dragging these will move them together, however it is not possible to select objects in different layers at the same time.
