If I try to add or edit a "Photos" Input in vMix, then vMix stops responding. The program doesn't crash, or close. It just hangs and does nothing. I can't close, resize, or minimize the Input window nor the Main Program window. The only thing I can do is open Task Manager and kill the task. I have had this issue since at least version 21.0.0.51, and possibly as far back as vMix 21's initial official release. Any guidance, or help to eliminate this issue would be appreciated. How I reproduce this problem: 1. Adding Photos Source Boot the computer Open vMix Click on Add Input button on bottom left corner of the screen Wait for the Input selection screen to appear Click on Photos At this point, the program hangs and can no longer be worked with. vMix_Lockup_2.PNG (75kb) downloaded 0 time(s).2. Editing Existing Photos Source Boot the computer Open vMix Open any vMix preset file that has a Photos Source in it Click on the gear icon of the Photos Source Click on the Change button At this point, the program hangs and can no longer be worked with. vMix_Lockup.PNG (427kb) downloaded 0 time(s).Steps I've taken to resolve (In No Particular Order): Reboot computer Motherboard BIOS Update Windows Updates nVidia Display Driver Updates (Multiple Times) Blackmagic Device Driver Updates (Multiple TImes) Every vMix Update as it has come out Update audio interface drivers Swapped out audio interfaces Killing all other unnecessary background tasks My current setup: Windows 10 Pro x64 Intel Core i7 3570K 16GB DDR3 RAM GeForce 1050Ti Samsung EVO 850 @ 500GB Behringer Firepower FCA610 audio interface in USB mode (Have previously used a Focusrite 2i2 as well) Blackmagic Intensity Pro vMix 21.0.0.59

Try a different image format...jpeg, bitmap, and check the image size...1920x1080, I had a similar issue with an early version of vmix, and I lowered the image size, and it went away

@Joeboe
Thanks for your reply, but vMix locks up before image size would become relevant. When I'm adding the new source on a new preset, it locks up before I can even begin to choose a folder containing the images. It locks up before the browse button is drawn onto the screen.

Open Task Manager...look to see what unwanted apps are running, and stop them...I have been having great problems with Adobe one touch....also do a scan with Malwarebytes to see if any unwanted apps got loaded piggy-backing on another app.....

Can you try dragging and dropping the file directly from your image directory into the vMix workspace. My feeling is that the issue is with the browse function and your windows build. I have seen this sort of issue with other applications before...not with vMix however.

@Joeboe, this is a clean install of Windows, and I've already played the Task Manager game for months. This machine doesn't get any cleaner, and there's nothing in Task Manager I haven't done.
@ask, interesting thought. I didn't notice anyone else having the same trouble right away, so I've wondered if it's a bug in Windows, and not in vMix. I generally don't drag and drop in vMix, so I'll try that with an existing preset. However, I've never tried drag and drop in a photos input, can you drag a whole folder of images in? Because I'm doing the Photos source, not the image source. The Image source works fine last I knew. It's only the photos source that's hanging. I'll have to try that when I'm at the computer again.

Just choose individual images. But you can multi-select them.

@ask I'll give that a shot, but unfortunately all we're doing here is attempting to work around what's broken and not fixing what's broken. But attempting this work around may tell us something about what's broken.

I have no such problem on my system. Even when I choose a Dropbox folder with 1500+ high-res JPEGs as the source.
I only choose a folder. Not specific files.

@mjgraves, I never had a problem either regardless of image size, format, or quantity.........until I did. And once the problem started, it has remained the same for months. Really frustrating because the photos input is a fundamental part of my workflow.
