After several days of research - a wealth of questions, reading reviews, comparing and finally semi-understanding NDI - here is the set-up system I put together to start -

I would like to get opinions and thoughts on my set-up / good or bad as this will be my first run at this game

Laptop Helios 500 - OWN

2 Camera Sony HXR NX100 - OWN

2 NewTek Connect Spark HDMI

2 Mobile Studios Spark Mount Battery Kit

Ubiquiti Networks US-8-60W UniFi 8-Port Gigabit PoE Compliant Managed Switch

AmazonBasics USB 3.0 to 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

Shielded Cat6 Various Lengths

Vmix HD Software - PURCHASED

streamed via WiFi most times to FB / Vimeo / Youtube

Laptop: Without further specs it seems ok.
Camera: Perfect
NDI encoder: Perfect, uses NDI|HX which uses reduced bandwidth. The only way to use in a Wifi environment
Battery Kit: Maybe powering both through a bigger battery using P-Tap is an alternative. Your pick will work also
Switch: PoE doesn't makes sense. Spark doesn't work with PoE and if I understand you would like to stream over Wifi. Make sure the switch supports IGMP snoofing. But that would only make sense if you have more traffic
USB Adapter: I don't know why. I assume the Laptop has a Gig Lan Port. If not it's a good alternative.

The most critical in your setup is the wifi connection of the sparks into vmix. In crowded areas it's hard to get a good free wifi channel to get the bandwidth throughput. You would need to build your own wifi setup. And you would need to understand very well how Wifi is working. Especially in well used areas.
Just a mention on your targets. vmix only allows 3 egress streams. With FB, Vimeo and Youtube you have used all capabilities. If you record locally remember to use a fast second disk to record onto. Don't use the system drive.

Laptop: LapTop

PoE was based on some videos and recommends for further expansion down the road ... I want a good good switcher, read managed are the better choice ...

USB Adapter is back-up in case

I plan on running CAT6A from spark to switcher no WiFi here

From Laptop / Vmix to Facebook or Tube or vimeo will be WiFi'd out

The cameras will be recording ISO - then a external SSD ran usb 3.0 to record locally

This for two projects - 1 or 2 cameras - stream to facebook is all and to learn this new NDI stuff

Will address P-Tap after I get it dialed in and see where it all lays

In regards to a good managed switch I would recommend this product
https://mikrotik.com/product/crs112_8p_4s_in
It runs RouterOS with unparalleled features. You can even setup routes, dhcp clients/servers, queues, etc. Make sure you buy an additional 48V power supply. It only comes with a 24V one. You can add up to 4 SFP modules. I use fibre for really long runs.

I would avoid WiFi completely.

If you have wired connection of Spark there is no need to buy mobile power setup. Just use the power supply that comes with the Spark.

If you go Unifi - get the us8-150W as all 8 ports are PoE. Pretty sure on the 60W it is just 4 ports. The extra flexibility will pay off.

The power supply may not last long enough for me in the field, I don't want to run extra power cables ...
I can not find anything saying the spark is POE ??

can you elaborate please

There is also the option of running a POE to DC splitter adapter. They're quite affordable.

Yes, these are quite handy, but I think the Spark is POE-capable.

NO information on the spark being POE can I find ..

I did find a big announcement and write up on the Spark website about the
Mobile Studios Spark Mount Battery Kit, nothing in that either said anything about POE enabled

Nonetheless, Spark tech specs clearly state 12 vDC 1 A.

The availability of these sorts of items (which are dirt cheap) means that it can be POE powered. They have adjustable output voltage (5vdc, 9 vdc or 12vdc) and various power connectors.

It's also curious to note that Spark has only 10/100 Ethernet. That's nice, since most active POE splitters are not gigabit.

Spark HDMI and Spark SDI are NOT PoE. NewTek does not recommend any PoE power spliters for these units, but they should work (use at your own risk). From what I recall, a Spark uses about 4 watts of power.

Spark Pro is PoE, uses about 10 watts of power.

Thank You - I thought this was the case - something that gives zero information about something that can be industry normal
