Hi, I'm new in vMix and I wonder if there is a way to assign another source to Output 1 using Shortcuts/Scripts. I found the shortcut functions SetOutput2-4 and was able assign them successfully but it seems that SetOutput1 is missing. I also managed to call the functions SetOutput2-4 using scripts. Unfortunately I is not albe to call "SetOutput1".

Thanks guys!

OUTPUT 1 is anything you put in PROGRAM

So by default everything you do in vMix is a way to assign sources to OUTPUT1 !!! And all commands that can be used to feed PROGRAM are what you're asking for

Hi, thanks for your reply! I'm not sure if I get what you mean. In the settings it is possible to change the source for Output 1 (see picture), so shouldn't there be a way to do that in a shortcut/script?vMix Settings

@ ungetoastet

Can you make a good case scenario for why you would want to change Output[1]?
As Guillaume says, Output[1] is the main Program Output of vMix and directly tied to what you are Streaming and/or Recording.
Any switching done in vMix is reflected in Output[1] by default.
Changing it with a Shortcut or API command is probably not a good idea as it kind of takes vMix and its abilities out of the equation.
(at least in terms of streaming and recording your Program Output)

We are hosting a live show using multiple cameras and speakers, what requires an individual setup for each show. Before starting the actual show we want to stream a trailer (about 30 mins). During that time we still need to setup the cameras and so on. In fact we need a way to stream independently from the "Program" so to say.

Set OUPUT2/EXT2 with your video input

Use an external encoder with this OUTPUT2 as an input (for example OBS or NTRStreamer). When you stop streaming from this encoder, just start vMix stream. There will be a few seconds off but no big deal...

Otherwise, just be fully ready before you start to stream this trailer. Or just don't use PROGRAM at all during your setup.

I think ungetoastet has a good point, and if he/she escalate this to a Feature Request I would certainly +1 it.
I can see the use, and since it is possible to change the Output1's source in the Settings it would logically be possible to do that with a Shortcut too.
