Hi everybody
Key+Fill output gives great possibilities to people that are in need to use a traditional hardware switcher and vMix as a source for video playout and graphics.

My suggestion is to add the possibility to output overlays only. In the settings it's possible to toggle which overlays should be displayed on each output. Unfortunately you can't switch off the video itself or select "transparent" in the dropdown (like "input XX" or multiview or program).

The actual workflow to send a xaml-title to your mixers DSK would be cutting a transparent colour input and the title as overlay. And then you have to mention when your mixers DSK channel is open to avoid overlaying your mixers output accidentally with anything like a video or other sources brought to vMix output. In my opinion this is very risky.

So my suggestion is to have an "Overlay Only" channel with key+fill and a transparent layer instead of output video and additionally f.ex. via external2 the "normal" vMix output.
This would make things much easier and opens many new possibilities to use vMix.

+1 doing exacly the same.

As for my aplience, Im using vMix only for feeding ATEM with instant replay from vMix. It would be nice if i could send only that, and dont worry about Transparent image to be set, so the DSK dont have to be always one, after replay ends.

Many of our customers would benefit from this new feature because they work with ATEM hardware mixers already and have been asking for key&fill for a long time. The current state is, as said already, a bit risky. The feature as suggested here seems to be easy to realize (at least it sounds easy to me), so please give it a go in the next update.

It would be great to have the option of one of the external outputs that could be fed to a Decklink card configured so that black graphics backgrounds became transparencies for use on a DSK on an Atem for example
