The combination of vMix and NewBlueFX Titler Live as a graphics engine is very powerful, yet falls woefully short in one area. Signaling to the user which NewBlue graphic is "Animated In" the vMix production. At this point, all we have is the ability to light a key in respect to the overlay you're using. But if you have a bank of say 10 graphics per NewBlueFX Titler Live Tab, you have no way of knowing which key you pressed to "Animate In" the graphic that's LIVE, so you have to guess which key you need to press to "Animate Out" that graphic. While it's great to have the ability to use keys to bring on and send off animated titles, we need a way to know which title is LIVE.

Hopefully, between NewBlueFX, the X-Keys people and vMix, we can get a solution that brings the switcher/midi signaling up to par with what all these products do individually. I know it would certainly help in my face paced sports production world. I need to see lights - don't have time to read key caps when doing sports.

I can't +1 as I don't use Titler Live by New Blue.
BUT I did have a question.

Is there something in the NDI protocol that vMix might be able to latch onto to help with this?
NDI reminds me of AREXX which was based on REXX which allowed companies to include this in the software.
By including AREXX companies didn't need to 'work together' as the language itself allowed you to do things that were not possible unless companies literally developed together.
It was the original reason REXX was create as the development process for software took years and at the end they need an easy way to glue them together and make them all play nice.

I bring this up as I wonder if NDI has that in the 'sublayer' or 'programming layer' to allow companies like vMix and programmers like Martin to do what you need.

Oh and I totally understand your frustration and I hope my crazy talk helps spark an idea on this.

Also does New Blue Titler have a similar forum that you could cross post this on?

We use NewBlueFX Titler Live for all our advanced graphics, so a visual queue via an activator would be a nice addition for which ever Titler Live graphic is active.

This feature would be an awesome addition to vMix. Very Handy!

Hi all,

We spoke to NewBlueFX at IBC who pointed out that version 4 has support for the Elgato Stream Deck
to provide graphical indicators when titles are active.

That sounds like a good affordable solution rather than routing activators through vMix.

Martin
