I am running Vmix external output into a Blackmagic Design Quad 2 card out to a sdi to analog convertor.
If I play an archived video thru Vmix external output.... out to the dvd recorder it works/records beautifully, BUT if
I try to send my live video feed out to the same recorder via the same external.... output the dvd recorder
preview external monitor shows that frames are being skipped & when I play back the dvd recording....frames were indeed being skipped.
I am tearing my hair out trying to figure out how it could possibly be happening.
Does anyone have any ideas?
EDIT: Solved. I would never had assumed this would cause a problem, but it fixed the dropped frames.
I had one Vmix setup for just streaming archives out to viewers. It had a Behringer UMC204HD preamp set for audio in External Output settings within Vmix. I could stream & record the output to the Magnavox DVD recorder with no issues.
The second Vmix setup was for live feed streaming to viewers. It had my LG monitor set as the audio in External Output settings within Vmix. Could not record a live stream to Magnavox DVD recorder without tons of dropped frames.
When I set External Output within Vmix to use my Behringer UMC204HD preamp for audio as the archive stream settings had....everything resolved & works great.
