Hi to all
@elgarf - thank you for all your hard work in creating this amazing piece of software. Thanks to you I can finally use different graphics for my scoreboards as opposed to having to use plain rectangular ones due to excel limitations on transparent backgrounds - yippeeee!
@DWAM - thanks to your tutorials (both written and YouTube videos) I've managed to create my first vmc controller file and am pleased to say that my scoreboard is functioning as I would like.
I've managed to set everything up correctly I think, but have a couple of questions and would appreciate any feedback/advice :
- Having read all the posts in this topic I see that someone else previously asked whether more colours would be added to the palette - is this something in the pipeline or has the limit been reached?
- Before closing down UTC last night I made sure to save everything. This morning when I re-opened the vmc file, I found that all the Title mapping input fields had lost the required info and were blank. Consequently, I had to re-input the xaml file details on all my widgets. Is this normal behaviour or am I missing a step somewhere?

@corporatejames, I can just make "..." button in text field widget, so you can select any file you want.
@brownm, that's not very easy with current architecture of real time updating. I'll look what I can do with this.
@Snooker Loopy,
1) I can add more colors, now it just limited to vMix categories colors, but there is no limitations on this.
2) That shouldn't happening =( are you sure you opened the same vmix preset? UTC using GUID's into *.vmix file to recognize inputs. Are your mappings was created and just blank or there wasn't mappings at all?

Yeah, this issue might happen when you open UTC's project BEFORE vMix's preset. Just make sure to do things in the right order.

Oh, I hadn't realised that I needed to load a preset first. I had opened VMix but was using a blank each time for testing purposes - in computer terms that's what we call an id10t error.
Does that mean that I have to create each VMix preset before being able to create the corresponding .vmc file? If so, then I have a lot of work in front of me.
Also I've tried without success to locate VMixUTCNDIMonitorDataProvider.dll since I would like to be able to have the scoreboard monitored in UTC due to the small size in VMix. I downloaded the latest version of UTC and have checked the folder where the files were unzipped (as per DWAM's tutorial) but can't find any trace of it anywhere. I searched the whole of the laptop but it doesn't appear to be there. Has it disappeared or is it a case where the monitor bit can only be used through NDI and not on the local laptop? - only because I am trying to cut down on the amount of equipment carried for each venue. If I start NDI on the local machine (if that's possible when VMix is already running), would I then find the required file?
Thanks for your assistance so far, I'm very excited at the prospect of being able to use UTC on the next job.

Or you need to click Update State button, it will take mappings back to your preset.
NDI data provider is separated from UTC, download it individually.

Sooo, I've made some changes: 1) LIVE switch, wich affects on all text-based widgets like Text Field, Score, Timer, etc. If it switched off, all changes will be visible only in UTC. 2) Path select button in Text Field widget. 3) A little more colors (and you can add your own by editing Colours.xml file). Caption text color is black or white, based on caption background brightness. 4) "About" window, where you can push button & go to this thread =) First Post

Tested new version:
Unable to open previous template vmc files. (I have old version in another folder for backup) Image path selection working perfectly - tested in blank template. The new colours for widgets is very helpful - cheers especially if I database the colours xml file to pull team colours :)

elgarf wrote:Okay, I've updated UTC, re-download it please. Can confirm that the old VMC file works now. I will continue to test over the next couple days to see if the latest update is stable or any further bugs. Thanks Elgarf great work. Is possible to be able to set the location of the colours xml file in a settings file eg a web url. I can CMS the team colours and functions using the xml which would be awesome

Colours saved into vmc file not by index, so if you change team colors you still need update all widgets.

Nope. Widget just store RGB values of color, I can't replace one color to another beacuse don't know which colors change.

There is no such info in vMix API, as I know. So we can't map color onto some value in the title.

I said vmix xaml as a example of being able to change colour dynamically. I know that the current xml is read on loading and just updates the available colours for selection.

There is still problem, that colours.xml readed only once at start. I think it's not very important to have colors, readed from database. But I think what I can do =)
