When using a PTZ camera and using configured presets, the input monitor shows the current selected preset image in all other presets. What would be nice is to setup a preset, take a snapshot of the composited shot (using the camera icon) and then using that snapshot as a thumbnail to visually see what the shot shows. (For example- CU of Basketball ring; WS of crowd; MS of Free Throw shooter etc). We can label each input but when you have a lot of presets it is hard to find the right one quickly.
thanks 1 user thanked ask for this useful post.

BUMP...the more I use presets on the PTZ inputs the more I see the need for this ability.

Hi... Noticed that Wirecast has included this in their implementation of PTZ control and PTZ presets.

Revisiting this FR as I have been using PTZ presets in classroom sessions to display local students to remote students when in discussions. It is hard to quickly identify the right preset when you have a large number of presets. A snaphot image of each student/group would really help!

Can you perhaps describe visually what you mean? As vMix automatically generates thumbnails for each PTZ angle created
already so not sure what is needed in addition to that?

Unfortuatey that Thumbnail doesn't always stay the same. So what I'm taking about is to be able to take a headshot of a student and then apply that as the thumbnail for the preset. Or use a custom graphic that gives a representation of the composited shot. Does that help? If not I'll try to do a visual to explain.

The other thing with the auto generate thumbnail is that you are often setting up the preset before an audience arrives. So all you might see is a row of empty seats next to another preset that shows a row of empty seats. So a different image will help in the heat of production.

I just posted about this too.

My issue is that when switching between presets, the current preset and the previous preset (which is now in preview) both show live thumbnails, when it would be preferable for only the program (live preset) to show live thumbnail.

I would like those to almost never be live previews.

So 3 years after this thread was created, we still can't do this somehow?
