For producing content to a big square multisided led screen - i need to reduce the size of the program signal - so it keeps the 16:9 size - and use the top and footer for other information... I want to be able to do results, live picture and commercials in the middel 16:9 section.

Last time i had a second PC - that did the scaling to the square led - and it controlled the content for program, upper and lower thirds.

I should be able to reduce the requirements to one vmix machine - if it's possible to have an input that shows the content of "program"...

Is this possible out of the box?

I did a test where i send out on ndi the "output" and then received it in another output. It works - but with a half second delay...

Think it would be much nicer to have an "input" that show the content of output/program out or preview for that matter...

If a solution exists - i hope to here from you... thanks

It's a very bad idea and you found out why (latency as well as extra load).

Solution is to go for another PC as you did before.

Try this:
Add input - Camera - Camera - Show legacy devices - Vmix video
We use it to send 3 cameras plus the programm output in a split screen to the PTZ operator.

Thanks Martin, it almost works... i can select the vmix device when tagging the legacy devices - but it only show "test-pattern" not the main out!
I am using the lasted vmix version and build

Try turning on the "External" output. That will send the program video to the device rather than the test pattern.
