Hi folks

Newbie here so be nice.

I have a Magwell Pro Capture Quad HDMI in a Sonnet Eccho Express SE1 (thunbderbolt 3 edition) pluged into an MSi Raider GE73 running vMix 21.0.0.44.
Firstly, vMix has started crashing on start up (with the sonnet box attached to the thunderbolt 3 port) after I installed the magwell drivers (driver version V1.3.0.3825). I get error code D3DERR_INVALIDCALL:Invalid call(-2005530516). If I remove the sonnet and reboot, vMix becomes stable.
On the odd ocasion that vMix doesnt crash with the sonnet box attached and I try to add camera, the Magwell inputs dont apear in the list.
I can see the sonnet box in device manager but not the Magwell. I have a spare magwell card and get the same issue with both cards.

I've also tested to see if the inputs are present by using webcamviewer. It picks up the vmix inputs and the built in webcam but not the hdmi input cards.

Any one have any advice on how to get this working?

FYI
I have already updated the bios

Hi globaldrifter,

Are you able to verify that your laptop indeed supports Thunderbolt 3?
The spec sheet on the MSI website indicates a USB Type-C port, which is the same connector for Thunderbolt 3, but vastly different data rates (10 Gbps vs 40 Gbps) and might be the reason you are getting the error.

Yep, that'll be it :(

Original sales lit states 'thundebolt ready' but not actualy thunderbolt. Bugger!
Any ideas how I might get 4 HDMI inputs into the Msi?

Always check the specifications information, not the sales literature.

If you've just purchased the laptop, see if you can return it.

I haven't seen the literature, but if MSI claims that the Raider GE73 is "Thunderbolt Ready" then MSI should be obligated to deliver on their promise to the end user/consumer. Call MSI customer service and ask them how the GE73 can be "Thunderbolt Ready".
