vMix 21 has been released!

Visit the download page below to download and view all the changes:

Feedback

Please report any bugs or questions in this thread.

Changes since 20.0.0.40

If you have been using the 20.0.0.40 beta, there have been a couple of last minute fixes since that release:

* Added support for selecting up to 32 threads in streaming quality settings
* Fixed javascript errors when logging in to Vimeo
* Updating scores in a title template using the web controller will no longer cause a brief change in the countdown timer

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Martin

thanks for the release, just on time for my next 4 day production starting on Friday! Great !

One little question I wanted to ask for a long time about encoding options. After several tests I'm not sure what to think
When hardware encoding is checked, the available options seem to have no effect at all on the stream quality.
The options (profile, level, preset) are clearly those for FFMPEG H.264 but do they translate (and how) for NVENC parameters options (especially for the "preset" option)?
To me they just don't

Thanks again for everything, it's so great to work with vMix!

Guillaume

Hi
Is anybody having problems with vmix videocall, because I am having problems since I updated vmix 20 to vmix 21 .
When I start a video call everything works fine for about 3-4 minutes then video starts delaying, so audio and video aren't synchronized.
Internet connection between host and guest is very good. 20mb/s up and 20+mb/s down.
I never had this problem with vmix20.
Any help please?

I got a problem with local desktop capture (internal) in vmix21 win10.
I try capture second display and got a black screen.
If I start VmixDesktopCapture.exe separatly -- second display captured ok.

2 videocards in my system -- 1050ti and internal intel 4600, second display on intel.

Downloading vMix 21 now, can't wait to try out the audio fade shortcut! Thanks for never being satisfied with how great this software is. Keep it up.

EDIT: And just like that, I update and the feature works just as I had hoped. A clean fade from one position to another over a set period of time.
I did however get an error because I couldn’t figure out how to set the correct value. So in case anyone is wondering it is “percent of volume required, length of fade in milliseconds”. So “100, 1000” for a fade to 100% over 1 second of time. “50, 1000” for a fade to 50% over 1 second.

Hello,
I would like to report a tiny but still annoying bug ;)
In the input properties (cog wheel button), position page, when needing to do some very fine adjustments whith the mouse wheel on the Y zoom slider, its valor is not reflected in the numerical box next to the slider...
It's working anyway but you need to close and reopen the position page to see the correct value applied.

FYI, I was working on images (jpg at 1280*960) to be fitted in 1280*1024 output res with the latest vMix 21.0.0.41 release.

Bug with Desktop Capture built into vMix (21.0.0.41).

Built into vMix (21.0.0.41) vs External vMix Desktop Capture (21.0.0.1)

In Capture File 1 and 2, using Desktop Capture built into vMix Will not capture app screen correctly, all i get is a black screen.

In Capture File 3 and 4, Using the separate Vmix Desktop Capture program is able to capture app screen correctly.

You have to use custom RTMP for Facebook if streaming to other providers. This has been a requirement from Facebook API for a long time and nothing to do with vMix.

Hi Martin,

There is some problem in Stream input with VLC for VMix option. We use for long time an input like udp://@11.11.11.100:1234 and now is not possible to play it. "Need VMix 64 bit for this feature" is showed... Thanks for your great software! Regards from Argentina

Any plans to update the download page with the new Desktop Capture versions 21.0.0.1 included with vMix 21?

FYI here is key/fill working to ATEM from Vmix using Decklink Duo2 as per instructions in the Support link @Desmar posted above
Graphic is XAML title input (overlay 1) with transparent colour input as background.

the optimus lockout hapoened again: 5 min before session start.

i changed from smooth to legacy to test something and on vmix restart i ran into the optimus warning. problem is you can not fix it, just reinstall vmix.

changed from vmix 64bit to 32 and re set up the recording and i can continue, but the lockout should default to auto settings and then restart vmix, so a lock out can not occur.

please fix or just completely remove the optimus option ( legacy ).

what options do i have to restart vmix without re install?

It is not always possible to detect NVIDIA Optimus unfortunately, and the old methods of working around some bugs in optimus no longer work
in the latest Windows updates, hence why we moved away from the "Legacy" method to something entirely new.

The new method should work on all systems in the same way across all hardware, so it is more consistent now and what is recommended moving forward.
This is all to say do not change the Display option to Legacy unless there is a specific problem we have said it might resolve.

If you get stuck in the future, there is a method to clear out the settings back to default below:
