I Like to see VMIX implement the Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) Protocol.
Hoping this will be possible with FFMPEG soon to support SRT.
This will making live streaming possible under limited bandwidth conidtion.

If this would allow me to use FFMPEG, I would love it.

FLME is killing my processor. Yet can't stream to Youtube with FFMPEG.

Where did you see that FFMPEG was supporting SRT?

As I explained elsewhere, using SRT to push H.264 to a streaming server would not allow to reduce bandwidth.
The transport protocol has little impact on bandwidth, but codec may have a major impact. Using H.265 or VP9 would be a better option for low bandwidth/bitrate streaming. However very few streaming platforms allow this and even fewer will support SRT in a near future.

SRT's first goal is for delivery from a server to players. I don't think it's even possible to ingest SRT stream to SRT compatible servers (Wowza and Nimble)

SRT Alliance had a webinar earlier this week where they announced SRT support in Wowza. It wasn't very technical, so I didn't pay that much attention. They did address contribution as well as distribution.

They trumpeted support in Wowza and VLC. That suggests it won't be too difficult to add support in vMix.

https://www.ffmpeg.org/ says now they support SRT. From version April 20th, 2018, FFmpeg 4.0 "Wu".
- Haivision SRT protocol via libsrt

If FFMPEG supports it, then it should be possible to use in vMix????

Best Regards
