I have an older style X-keys, USB version, that Macroworks can see, but when I go to vMix, it doesn't register any keystrokes from the x-keys 20 device itself. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any advice?

From what I have read, You're going to have to change the Endpoints and PIDs in Macroworks,
to PI Consumer Input - Sends consumer page messages to custom software.
I do not have X-keys myself to confirm this. Maybe someone else can help or contact P.I. Engineering..

Hi, Spencerm24. vMix will not recognize the older X-keys natively, but you can probably program keystrokes into it and use it in Hardware Mode. If you need help with that, please contact our techs at tech@xkeys.com.

Thanks! I used it to mimic keystrokes, not ideal given that sometimes those keys are hit when using the computer, and it has to be the active window for it to work, but it gets the job done. Will have to invest in a newer XKeys to get the full benefit of them!

You can use an Auto Hotkey script to pass the keystrokes from the xKeys controller directly to a specific window. That way regardless of window focus the commands will still be pushed to the vMix software. Not an ideal solution but it helps a lot.
