Request is stealing a little of Martin Kay's brilliance - hope he doesn't mind. His NO AUDIO tools is fantastic. Having a basic alert of this style on the Output panel would be very useful for the majority of users without having to resort to Martin's third party tool. Those who want all the bells and whistles could still use Martin awesome tool. The "NO AUDIO" red alert box could come up just to the left of the Settings cog on the top of the Output panel. Alternatively, have an "AUDIO / NO AUDIO" indicator under each input and output of the Audio Mixer. Configuration settings would be a "NO AUDIO" level and a "Time" parameter that sets how long the silence has to be before the alert is triggered. Bump. Alert on missing audio would be very helpful.
There are lots of ways to make a mistake: monitoring audio off an external mixer and not realizing it is muted in vMix, controlling vMix remotely when listening to a different audio source, and many more.
An onscreen alert would be great. For starters display the main output metering with full bars in yellow (possibly flashing) when the level is zero for more than a minute or two... or even from the moment you hit Record or Stream. (Almost always a stream or record should have audio.)
Better would be to have that zero audio time threshold be configurable... and possibly even send a text message / email / make HTTP REST call to alert someone.
(I just concluded an hour long stream with no audio... and this is not the first time it has happened to me, and to other vMix users I have talked to.)

Script by reading the API XML Master Audio data and checking it for Mute true/false and meter values and act upon it. send info to title or let it send an email (See scripting for dummies post ) or whatever one fancies
