How to do timer count downs as in the march fun time show
Hi I've been looking through the new beta and trying to figure out how to do the countdowns that triggered titles as Martin and Tim did it
Anyone figured it out yet?

Hi

Not tried yet but my guess is:

Countdown title input > properties > triggers > OnCountdownCompleted > do whatever you want and be happy 'cos vMix rocks ! ;o)

I think it is something like this:
Quote:
New Features and Changes
...
* New OnCountdownCompleted trigger for titles
...

Hi Folks,
anyone figured out how to trigger things (like March Funtime Liveshow) with a countdown on the new Beta-Release VMix 21?
Haven´t managed it so far. And not found anything in the trigger-section of the new Beta-Release Helpfile.
Has anyone a how to-step-by-step thing for that?
thx
ChriS

I got it to work in a way I wasn't expecting but it works

The trigger OnCountDownCompleted is to be used in the title input where the countdown is running (doesn't have to be displayed though). It makes sense but OTOH, unless I'm wrong, it underlies you must create one timer title input for each command you want to be timely triggered as there is no way to update the trigger command dynamically.

Haven't played much with it so far so maybe I missed the point...

@ Digisaurier

Guillaume pretty much outlined it above.
Where are you having difficulties or getting stuck?
One of the key elements is to make sure you are applying the "Trigger" to the actual XAML Timer Input and not the Input it may be Overlaid on.
(I've made that mistake and wondered why it wasn't working, once I corrected that, it works perfectly)

I can think of a lot of ways to use it, so I won't give a step by step procedure here but the point is to :

- create a title with a countdown
- add a trigger for this title input with the OnCountdownCompleted command

Then just decide the best way to start this countdown for you (could be overlaid, started with a shorcut, triggered from another input, etc...)

Hope this helps

Ahhh! Thanks - I think I startet the wrong way on this.
I startet with any input (no timer) and tried to connect this input to a counter...
I now try it your way and let you know!
Thanks a lot again
ChriS

Update: I got it... Thanks to your hints and inputs! So I´m trying for anyone else who ist struggeling with it some "step-by-step" thing from all your great comments on that thing.

The Trick was simply to connect any Input (Video, Cam - whatever) with a "Start Countdown" Trigger and the action (start a stinger or a film or so) was then a Trigger in the Countdown-Input. It works even if the audience can´t see the Countdown-Input.

So from my understanding that means: If you want for example a certain CAM-Input trigger a Timer action like: Start something after 3 Minutes after that CAM was used, these are the steps:

1) Add a countdown Input (Text/XAML) in the project e.g. 3 Minutes Countdown
2) define there (!) what should happen after that specific countdown ends (start a stinger, film whatever)
3) Take whatever Input you want to start the complete thing (e.g. a Cam in your System)
4) On that Input (!) use a trigger to define "Start Countdown" on "Transition In" of the Cam and specify which timer you mean

And it works...
Did I do it right? Or is there an easier process?
