I had a stinger that was originally created as an mp4. I converted it to an MOV file, but vMix keeps giving me an error message every time I try to load it.

I am able to do the workaround by creating a series of png files and creating an image stream. However, my stinger has an audio component that is lost in that format. I need to be able to play it as a video.

Any idea what's going on? Help is greatly appreciated.

Hi

Just a guess. What utility did you use to do the conversion — and what codec did it use. I don’t think vMix will accept all codecs. Fir example I don't think it accepts the gopro codec.

A work around if the audio doesn’t have to be in perfect sync is to make a mp3 of the audio and add a trigger to the png sequence file input.

First you would create an audio input and browse to that mp3 file, Then, back in the png sequence input you would go to the trigger tab and add use the dropdown to select the MPs file.

@ LTNews

Using an Image Sequence is more reliable and more accurate (cut point) than using a video file.
Use an audio file, as rowby states, but add it as a Multiview Overlay.
Works like a charm!

Hi Ice

Remind me of the advantages of a multiview overlay rather than a trigger....for this situation.

Thanks

I believe you can use a .wav file with the same name as your first png file in the same folder and it will play automatically. Haven't tried this myself, but seem to remember reading about it.
