Hello I want to upgrade to Vmix SD but I can't get the Basic version to play nice with the camera. I have a Win 10 i7 with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 with the HD C920 drivers installed. Any insights/solutions would be greatly appreciated Paul Keytar Paul attached the following image(s): res-not-supported.jpg (43kb) downloaded 1 time(s). @ Keytar Paul
Try setting your Camera to Medium 480p and use Resolution 640x480 when adding the camera into vMix.

Ice I can set it to a lower res with no problems - but the camera is capable of more so of course I want to use a higher res. Mari - I installed the Logitech software thinking it would solve the error - I guess not. I will remove it and try again. Paul

Removed logitech software - I still can not select a higher res.
Very frustrating because even if I buy a better camera ( one with a higher resolution) who knows if it will work?
Can't upgrade until it's sorted.

According to the vMix Edition Comparison Table - the free version should allow a Maximum Resolution of 768 x 576

You are restricted to the max. resolution of the version of vMix, BASIC and SD: 768 x 576.
When the camera does not support this resolution, switch to the nearest one in the list: 640 x 480.
If you want higher resolution than 768 x 576 you need other version of vMix 9Basic HD or HD... depeding on how many overlays you need!)

As others have noted, the problem is that you are using the free version of vMix. I 6-8 different Logitech webcams, including the C920. They all support 720p and/or 1080p when used with vMix HD.
You should abandon the Logitech software as it's a CPU hog.

You should abandon the Logitech software as it's a CPU hog. how does that work would you do any camera settings changes and then close the Logitech software before going live once you're happy with it.. or do you literally mean uninstall the Logitech software because it'll be running in the background every time you plug one in? thank you

That means that the Logitech software should be removed completely. You use the Windows generic USB video device driver. This is exactly how the Logitech C930e, PTZ Pro and others work. The generic video driver has basic controls for white balance, etc. The Logitech C920 software is a massive resource hog, largely because it's constantly trying to adjust the exposure and focus. This is normally unnecessary. Logitech themselves detail how to use a generic UVC driver here: http://support.logitech....oduct=a0qi00000069uigAAAThe key being remove their webcam software first.
