I am confused. During a live stream I want to view twitter and facebook comments. The videos for VMix Social seem to tie into existing posts. Obviously a live stream has not been posted until the stream is complete. I also read that the stream has to be active to use Vmix Social during a live show. Streaming as you are setting things up seems odd.

Has anyone been successful using vmix to pull in live comments as a live stream is occurring. If so, is there a step by step available. Also when I set up Facebook I don't see any posts being pulled in although they exist. All tweets seem to be there, but not Facebook.

Help please.

While we don't use Facebook coments in vMix Social, we do use both Twitter and YouTube comments.

It has not been my experience that one needs to be actively streaming in order to setup vMix Social. Nor does one need to be actively streaming in order to view comments.

The purpose of vMix Social, for the most part, is to allow the audience to interact with a live streaming program and make available the ability, for those streaming the program, to integrate the comments (in text form) within the program. In that respect, one would prefer to be streaming while displaying the comments within the program. Doing so allows for the comments not only to be seen by the audience during the live stream, but also recorded, if one is recording the program.

In our work flow, we see comments, as you do, from Twitter, but not YouTube (as mentioned we don't use Facebook). This is likely due to the way the comments are acquired by vMix Social and the way Facebook make them available. If, as with YouTube, the chat is only active when the live stream is active, then there is no chat/comment section from where to get comments and they will not be available. Twitter, on the other hand works differently, in that the content there is always flowing and available.

Best of luck.

@ michaelrb

Facebook has recently made changes regarding who can retrieve comments from a page, you now need to have administrator privileges on that page to be able to use vMix Social and retrieve comments.
That might be why you are unable to see the posts in vMix Social.

I have administrator rights on the page I wish to view comments. Is there a step by step that shows how to set this up. I follow the existing videos to set things up, but I never can see comments from any source.
