Hi all, tried to do some testing today and every time I try to stream to Facebook, either using the vMix interface or setting up an RTMP connection with a stream key I get the same error message.
The machine worked fine the last time I streamed from it, the only change has been the addition of drivers for a Behringer audio interface.
If I use the same Facebook stream key with vMix on my laptop, plugged into the same switch it works.
Please help I'm normally pretty good with this stuff but this is stressing me out.

Hi,
This error message is coming from Facebook. "Operation not permitted" It usually means the Stream Key / URL being used is no longer valid.
Each time a new stream is created on Facebook, it needs to be streamed to within a few minutes or it will be deleted and become invalid.
Regards,
Martin vMix

Thanks Martin and thanks for the email over the weekend, that's quality support!
Having done some more testing I think this error message may be down to my ISP handling upstream traffic in some weird way.
I switched over from my landline ISP to a mobile 4G unit and it worked perfectly.
Today the stream is working but slightly unstable but again still fine over 4G.
ISP are getting a phone call tomorrow.

Hello. This is my first post so hopefully I'm in the right spot. This topic definitely sounds similar.
Trying to test out vMix for a Facebook Live session on Monday and I'm having issues and getting streaming errors. Full disclosure: I'm similar issues with OBS so I assume its not vMix. However, I figured I'd still ask for assistance, since my IT department can't seem to figure out why it won't work.
When I try to stream while connected to my company's internet/network, I get the streaming error message (in OBS it said "Failed to connect to server"). However, when I try to stream using a mobile hotspot (Verizon JetPack), I am SUCCESSFUL (same with OBS)! So I am assuming that the problem is with the network settings set by my ISP. However, tech support hasn't been able to get to the specifics of the problem.
Is there a specific setting that needs to be addressed that IT just isn't seeing?
Thanks for any help in advance.
The error message is below.

We get this error at public schools from time to time. It is simply the firewall blocking FFMPEG from talking to Facebook. In our case it blocks it from talking to youtube. I would suggest that you make sure Facebook is reachable by the network. Sometimes our error says it's a handshake error. Once a school admin puts us on a open log in it allows us to communicate and all is good. Sometimes the Smart Firewall blocks certain programs from accessing the Internet. Such programs might include certain streaming-media programs, network games, or custom business applications that are provided by your employer. You can unblock the program's Internet access.
