I have looked through the documentation but do not see any best practices related to video input formats and frame rates. With our Tricaster we would use their built-in utility to convert videos to mp2 format and I'm curious if we need to follow a similar practice with Vmix? I have an upcoming production with a 1080p24 MP4 video in a project set at 1080p29.97p for cameras and MPEG-2 recordings with stream encoding at 854x480 30p.

What is the best configuration for quality and performance (i.e. cpu and graphics load)? Will I encounter issues with the variety of frame rates?

I thought I would add to this thread as my question relates to this as well.

I understand the reasoning behind having a 29.97p and a 30p frame rate, however I'm not too sure if I understand the consequences of using both. I recently watched a vMix Fun Time Live Show where Martin explained that even though a camera may say "30p", other than a web cam or IP camera, it is probably "29.97p". We use Sony EX and other broadcast cameras for our productions. Since learning this information, I have set my preset and all inputs to 29.97p to match the frame rate in the cameras. As we do not use any web cams or IP cameras, I assume we do not have any true "30p" inputs. The issue comes to my streaming settings. The specs provided by my CDN are 1280x720 at 30 frames per second. Should I change this to 29.97 frames, or leave this at 30? Is this another case of 30p actually being 29.97p? Just a bit confused at this point as to the worst case scenario and/or best settings to use for streaming, recording and keeping the frame rate consistent.
