Just did a test recording, had to be quick, and by accident pressed the button for no sound in recording settings. I'm happy it didn't happen during a gig, because there is no indication at all when you're not recording the sound. You might stream with sound, have all audio meters in green, but accidently press this option and have no audio on the recording. An indication under the main audio meter would be nice.

+1 +1 +1
This feature would have saved us many hours of additional work. We forgot the tic-box for audio at our output-recording of a 12 hour stream. Fortunately we did a second (parallel) recording of a single camera and in this recording we had the audio atmosphere of the sports venue. We were able to copy the audio channel to the program recordings and now everything is fine.
But with a warning feature this does not happen.
Regards Karsten

Am I missing something? As soon as you do a recording with audio you will have a section for it in the audio mixer outputs with level meter. No audio ticked in recording settings --> no recording section and level meter. So if this is missing you know that you should check audio settings.

You're not missing anything. Thing is: if I only have a stereo source (i use an external mixer), i just check the master, the statistics and monitor the output. I often don't open the audio mixer, to save some space on the monitor. Off course, when on an important job, I doublecheck everything, and eventually will see this by looking at the stats. But in general, I think it's confusing to see all meters behaving normal, when you don't record sound. I almost don't see any use for not recording the sound, and find the tick box rather dangerous.. :)
