Would it be possible to contact Mixer (mixer.com) to incorporate their FTL service as a streaming option?

Right now I'm getting 5-10 seconds of latency, would love to get that sub 1.

Thanks,
R5Dad

Here is the SDK for it, is it possible to add our own manually?

Bumping this.

I REALLY need this SDK. If FTL support is not possible, is it possible to add your own SDK? Perhaps a 3rd party module?

Thanks,

The latest OBS Studio appears to have FTL support and there is an NDI plug-in for OBS. So with combo you should be able to do this all today.

Thanks, yes OBS does do this. But to use vMix and OBS on the same system causes a lot of issues. OBS already takes up too many system resources and is buggy.

I shouldn't have to have yet another computer in the mix just to do FTL. And our setup cannot use OBS by itself as it crashes once you get so many NDI sources in. We have 10 NDI sources for our production. vMix handles this very well, but we have dedicated an entire system to it.

I just think vMix should have this capability, or allow us to add our own plug-ins.

But thank you for replying!

Bumping this, we are really desiring this feature.

I know that if this ability were added to vmix, more Mixer streamers would start using vMix.

I know bumping isn't awesome, but I'd really like to keep this on the forefront until I'm told it can't be done from within vMix.

I just tried OBS and SLOBS again and both are such cpu hogs it nearly crashes the computer. It definitely lags the system enough that FTL doesn't work. Besides, having two production systems is kind of counter productive.

If this is not possible, please tell me and I'll drop it. But if it is possible, please consider it.

Thanks,
Jon

Requesting again. It's amazing with this Now Now Now generation that 8 seconds is too long to wait for someone to respond to "hi!" but it is what it is.

We really need Mixer's FTL capability. I dare say more so than facebook (imho).

As more gaming conferences and tournaments switch to Mixer, VMix will be the only production solution that will keep up with the demand. OBS/SLOBS has very little useful functionality for multi-cam solutions.

And "just" buying another system to put OBS on is NOT a solution, unless you are willing to buy me one!

Tim!! We need Mixer FTL!!! NEED it!!!

Thanks man

Jon

Changed my mind, I think SRT is a better protocol for me than FTL. So I remove my +1 and say +0 don't mind either way if Vmix supports it, but I wouldn't be using it.

Huge +1 for this!

I want to make sure I understand the work around correctly, however. Can someone confirm this:

  1. I setup all of my input sources and perform whatever production I'd like for my live stream in vMix
  2. Setup OBS with a single NDI source
  3. The OBS NDI source would point to the output of the vMix production
  4. Then I'd stream via FTL to Mixer from OBS - OBS is simply acting as the transport layer as all the real work will be conducted in vMix

Is that the correct work around?

Yes, that's correct. When I need to get FTL out of Vmix this is how I do it.
