yes, i have been following this discussionbut noticed that some all in one pcs also have a build in hdmi-in port. this way they can be used as a monitor. the price is lower than an alienware dell, so i thought i try the community here to see if somebody tested this option. stefan

The most affordable option would be something like:
MacBook Air or Lenovo S430 with Thunderbolt Port option ($899-$1099) UltraStudio Mini Recorder Thunderbolt ($145)
The MacBook Air option would require a Windows7/8 license.

i now use a laptop with usb3 BM shuttle input, but i am trying to cut cables. so a build in hdmi input would be great if it will work as reliable as my current setup.

Hi ,
we build our studios around a very silent, very portable system, 3 input cards and 1 vga card max.
88 watts on full throttle
To be viewed in awe in Waalwijk :) (of all places)
