the knowledge base as of 2015 says:
"HD / High Definition Devices (USB 3.0) USB 3.0 ports support up to 5Gbit which equals to a maximum of four HD USB capture devices. In practice, however, it is unlikely you will be able to connect more than 2 without dropping frames."
The approved hardware list now contains several "blessed" 4K and HD USB dongles. I wondered...
1. How are people using multiple USB 3.0 dongles doing with the new obsidian build doing....and in particular..... Can two or even more simultaneous 4K signals now be captured with an obsidian build using USB dongles as a source... or does that botteneck and do you need PCIE capture cards if you want more than one 4K stream at the same time with obsidian????
and,....
2. Can four or more HD signals now reliabily be captured at the same time using the obsidion build????

If you're trying to capture via USB 3.0 dongles, you're still limited by the USB Bus bandwidth, which hasn't really changed in the different builds. One, MAYBE two should work, but thats about it, and if youre doing 4k, I'd guess, just one would work .
