I need the ability to stop an audio file from play so that it is then ready to play again from the beginning. "Pause" doesn't work, as sending the Play command just starts it from where it was. This is a "theme" song, so it needs to be able to be stopped WHENEVER, and then be immediately ready to play with another shortcut key press.

I have not been able to find the shortcut command to accomplish this.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

I swear there used to be a "STOP" shortcut, but I can't find it anymore if there is/was. I have gotten it to work by adding A shortcut for "Play / Pause" and once Paused, I can use the "Restart" shortcut to reset the input back to the beginning. If you don't pause it will simply restart and continue to play from the start again.

I hope this helps, and once I get home I'll take a look at my production rig to see what shortcuts I have setup.

EDIT: And if you want to have it all on one button, you can set the "pause" shortcut to your button of choice and then under the ADVANCED tab in that same shortcut settings panel, you can attach your "Restart" shortcut to the same "Pause" button. This way when you press that specific button, it will Pause first and then automatically restart ready for the next Play command.

You will find vMix can handle anything you can throw at it. I would pass that praise back to Martin and his team, as well as other members of this forum who helped me get my production off the ground. You are only limited by your imagination.

And after looking at my setup I have indeed used the same play + restart combo to reset my input.

SO true. VMix is absolutely amazing how much they have the broadcaster in mind. And you're right - I'm clear it can do just about anything I can think of (and I do ask it to do some crazy stuff) and it's always just a matter of finding out HOW...not IF I can do it!

Thanks. I had NO IDEA about the advanced tab in the shortcuts. Makes so much of what I've "hacked together" SO much more streamlined!

The combination of advanced shortcuts and triggers can work wonders for automating a production. I’m currently training my “replacement” on the vMix pc so I can oversee my whole production and improve on some of the other elements. After the last event he simply said “This is really simple...”. All the hours of setup and experimenting and scouring/ posting in these forums flashed before my eyes. But he’s right, these days it is simple.
