Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to work out the best approach for sharing iPhone or ipad screen (Not its camera) as a feed & not capturing the desktop.
I have a spare MacBook & worked out that you can just plug device in with lightning/usb cable & use Quicktime recorder & vMix recognises the feed which is very cool.
But id like to try & get away with having to use a 2nd laptop & my main laptop will be used as the console.
Approach needs to be wired.
I seem to recall a video where a lightning to hdmi was used. Would this require a video capture before arriving at the vMix laptop?
Thanks in advance
Todd

I have 2 of the Lightning to HDMI adaptors and my capture cards have trouble finding the signal. It’s not a true 1920x 1080 feed from what i understand. And you would need some sort of capture device to input the HDMI signal. I have used Reflector 2 available at www.airsquirrels.com. It can receive the airplay signal and you can capture the resulting image via vMix. Looks like there is a Reflector 3 available now as well.
