Hi there, just wondering if there is a preference somewhere that will stop the auto updating of the preview window from changing to what was in the program window.
On our ATEM, we can stop that so the preview window can be fixed at shot 1, no matter what we put in the program window. Effectively we want to keep the preview window display fixed to a specific shot.
On our black magic ATEM, we can set it that way and for live switching, the constant flipping of the preview window can be quite distracting.

Thanks

Make ActiveInput shortcuts instead of Cut or CutDirect.

I'm intrigued what sort of content do you do that this would be distracting?

Its not that its particularly taxing, but we have to work in the cut straight to live workflow and the image flipping is distracting, as its different to how we've worked previously.

But since you ask:

What we do is live switch to a master recording (using ATEM) to BlackMagic Studio 2 via SDI, using a MIDI device to selects shots.
We also record the MIDI events, then we put all the camera angles from Camera SD cards into our NLE (Vegas), sync it up, then sync the MIDI recording to the timeline, and translate the MIDI events to select the discrete camera angles in Multi-cam edit mode (MIDI note to Key command using Bomes MIDI translator) keeping the switch as a guide. Better overall quality and flexibility.
Now we have a decent VMix system, we are hoping to record the camera angles directly through mult-corder, with 3 stereo pairs of audio using MAB as audio source, plus the MIDI switch (via a DAW) so we can if needs be, go back to the individual angles. Generally only with paying clients, our internal editorial content is just straight to master then cut the takes together in the NLE from a single video stream.
