Hi all,
I would like to know if someone had the same problem I have.
I installed latest vMix, latest Elgato Game Capture.
I connected my camera to Elgato card and I can see and hear audio and video correctly.
If I start vMix, instead, I can hear audio correctly, but the video frame is totally green.
I tried also to use the vMixElgatoConfig.exe tool, but it cannot see the attached Elgato: "Device not detected" is shown.

Any tip or way to follow to have it working?
Is Elgato HD60S compatible with latest vMix?

Thank you very much.

I have a couple HD60S, they were a pain in the ass in the beggining for me as well

What I did:

1. Uninstall everything.

2. Install gamecapture (https://gc-updates.elgato.com/windows/egcw-update/3.70/final/download_x64.php)

3. Open game capture, see if you see everything correctly (also check resolution and framerate on your camera)

4. Open game capture settings and change the capture type accordingly (it has PC, CONSOLES, CAMERA, ETC), also increase the quality bar.

5. Close game capture and try to add it into VMIX.

If this doesnt work try capturing another PC or laptop for instance, if it works its something with your camera settings, if the problem persists try reinstalling the OS. If nothing works you have a defective unit.

best,
RS

Hi RandomStreamer,
I formatted my computer (Asus Rog G752VY), then reinstalled all latest versions: Windows 10 x64, NVIDIA G780M drivers and Elgato 3.70.1.
I tried the Elgato HD60s in Game Capture 3.70.1, Wirecast 8.1.1, OBS 20.1.3 and vMix 20.0.0.42.
As you can see in the attached images, my Elgato works in every software except vMix.
I followed all your suggestions, but now Elgato cannot be added as input in vMix instead as before that I can add it, but the video was totally green.
If I try to add input as Elgato HD Video #1 it "works" but the video is green as before.
Maybe vMix is no longer compatible with Elgato HD60s?
Thanks you for your help.

Any tip from vMix developers?

EDIT: Trying vMix (same version) but 32 bit when I add Elgato to inputs, I can hear audio, but video is totally green instead of receiving the "add input error".

Hi RandomStreamer and all interested,
as an update, now I have vMix connect to Elgato again, but the problem with video totally green remains.

To remove the error during "Add input" I uninstalled all Elgato stuff, then setup Elgato Game Capture HD v3.20, update to 3.50 and finally update to latest.
Probably now all needed drivers are installed (I can see Elgato and 4 drivers in control panel now instead of Elgato and 1 driver).
Drivers installed by the Elgato Game Capture setup are: Elgato HD, Elgato HD60, Elgato HD60 Pro and Elgato HD60 S.
Unfortunately this doesn't eliminate the problem with totally green video.
Audio, instead, is ok.

I'm hoping to solve asap.
If somebody have a solution, a tip or a way to follow I'll happy to try it.

Thank you very much.

Hi,
I already tried this, but after changed settings as my camera (1920x1080 p25 o p50) nothing changed, always video totally green and audio correct.

Thanks!

Just for the record, after reformatted the main HD and reintalled video drivers, elgato drivers and vMix now all seems to work fine.
Maybe some incompatibility with other stuff.
Thanks for the huge help.

I solved this green video input by buying a better USB3 cable and making sure it went into its own USB3 port on the computer.
It didn't work through a hub
It didn't work through one of my other USB3 ports
But with an expensive cable and in a certain port it works great.
