I have a group of sports medicine facilities here in the USA that are wanting to show a video clip then transition to TV for a set amount of time then play another video clip. This will loop throughout the day. Can vMix do this?

Just use a HDMI splitter for the CAT STB's out

It would seem vmix needs to play the video and then play the ingested TV signal.

Yes for sure. So what? You're not a newbee, do I need to explain you how to ingest an HDMI source into vMix? Is there a difference between a camera input or a live feed from a STB ?

I'm not calling you stupid, I just felt like you were asking how to use a HDMI port for ingest into vMix.
I said "yes for sure" confirming you were right and the rest of my answer indicates I was surprized that "you", not being a newbee, would need more explanations. I'm sorry I did not understand you were trying to clarify, I took it for a question.
