Hi,

Hoping this is a simple fix and I am just missing something.

If I run one vMix instance on one laptop where I input a png with transparencies and set the input so that there is a transparent background it seems that if I then use that inout over NDI to the other laptop as an overly the transparency isn't carried over. Do I need to use a colour key for this to work?\

Thanks

Jonny

Hi Jonny,

I think you should set the Output Format to ARGB32 on the laptop with the transparent png.
Go to Settings -> Performance, tick Show Advanced Settings and set the Output Format to ARGB32.

I hope it works!

Following...... I am also a bit worried about that warning that says "Don't do this unless vMix support tells you to." ...........

They say there might be performance loss:

Alternative, set a green layer, replacing the transparency, and use colorkey on the other end..

Otherwise, if you insist NDI'ing alpha channel, you might have performance issues.

best,
RS.
