When resetting a VLC-stream this can cause vMix to hang.

I've tried it several times with an HLS-stream, that was taken down and later restarted. vMix (or VLC) doesn't refresh the stream, so you want to reset it manually. However, this can leave vMix in an unrecoverable state.

Any chance of a fix for this? It is a pretty deadly issue if you are not aware of it.

Has anyone else experienced vMix becoming unresponsive after adding a VLC-stream and in particular after refreshing it?

Hi niemi,

I have tested HLS streams and VLC seems to have the same issue, so not much we can do if VLC also freezes up when resetting the HLS stream.
If you have a particular stream that isn't causing problems in VLC directly, please drop us an email to info@vmix.com.au with the stream so we can run some comparisons.

Hi Martin, thank you. I have not experienced VLC freezing, but rather vMix. The stream was a HLS-stream that I took offline and later started again. The stream didn't seem to refresh in vMix so I "reset" it in vMix. This is when vMix freezes. Later I can set up a stream again if this isn't easily recreated by you.

Yes, please email us the details to test. Every stream we have tried that fails, has the same issues with VLC separately.
