This is a question generated by my lack of experience. I wonder what you experts out there use to archive completed and broadcast (finished) shows?
Size becomes huge over time with almost every format. Is there a obvious choice both for format and storage?
Thank you for any advice.

Check out the vMix User Guide / Recording both the Recommended Recording Settings and Fault Tolerant Recordings If you are referring to online archive storage, you might want to take a look at Handbrake for reduced sized, web optimized files. It's free. https://handbrake.fr/

The other option is FormatFactory. Both it and Handbrake work well.

I archive in H.265 it's not the best for editing later, but I have to keep massive amounts of footage. (I use Adobe Media Encoder CC, might as well I pay a subscription for Premier and After Effects anyway).
Consider uploading to Youtube as well as long as your video is not "confidential". I've accessed Youtube from time to time when I've found corrupted footage. Free storage system as long as your are happy with Youtube's TOS.
