Would love to be able to see a waveform monitor and vectorscopes in Vmix. Would be very handy for calibrating inputs.

Also agreed, a nice feature to have, but I'm not sure how easily many cameras, or at least their images can be tweaked. I think the best evidence of this is to watch the " Teradek Live" show clips from NAB 2016 (not the LiveX feed from the vMix booth, but the actual glass cube set). The cameras obviously don't match, and you would think that that is something they would have tried to accomplish in their set-up (if not, definitely something they should look into next year). Ice

Since the UI for any input allows you to change color, saturation, etc. Having a visual reference, Waveform Monitor and Vectorscopes to see what those changes are actually doing would make these UI tools far more valuable.
Not that changing color, saturation, black range, etc. is ideal to do in Vmix, since the source is usually the best, but still, being able to view the raw input values pre and/or post changes would be extremely helpful.
Just because most people don't know how to use a feature shouldn't be a reason for not having it. I'd argue the opposite, people will never learn how to properly calibrate inputs if they don't have the proper tools to do it.
Plus finding a decent input SDI/HDMI vectorscope / Waveform Monitor tool for live feeds is hard and not cheap. I would suspect some out there would buy Vmix strictly for this feature.

Using Blackmagic's free Resolve in Live mode makes a great waveform etc monitor. You would then need a BMD mini recorder card or usb3 interface for SDI or HDMI input.
They also have the SmartScope Duo or the Ultrascope.

Yes! Vmix needs native Vectorscope and Waveform monitors!

+1, but only when we also get better color correction tools.

+1 Even more useful when having lots of different gear.
And people will learn how to use it

I would also be concerned with the resources required to implement such a feature. Currently I minimise resource impact on vMix by using external recorder and Cube for Streaming. I will add Newtek iso Recorder to provide ISO capability. An all in one Magic Box may hurt vMix in the long run. I would prefer Martin focus on improvements to the core funtionality of vMix and use additional hardware for support/engineering functions. The director should focus on the creative and let others deal with technical and audio. Of course this is mainly applicable to productions requiring many sources.

It's true that waveforms can be very computationally demanding but a simple highlight such as this would allow you to match exposures on skin tones or in this case fur tones. The user could define a luminance band that is high lighted. It could have a 5fps update rate and highlight only every 4th pixel to speed it up or only turn on when a colour adjust control is changed. Using Resolve Free in Live mode is the best option if you have the power or another PC. On my now antique i7 3930 , GTX 680 box running this with Vmix increased - GPU load from 7% to 17% GPU ram 426 mb to 926 mb CPU load 13% to 27% RAM used 4GB to 8.7GB You can run less displays. `Tell em their dreaming'

Thinking more about this today, would a solution be to implement Zebra Bars instead. That way it would replicate the same method of adjusting exposure on cameras that most videographers are used to. Vectorscopes and histograms are way to complex in a run and gun situation. They are great in post, or for still DSLR photographers who shoot in RAW, but trying to setup seven or eight cameras on a shoot in a short time would be impossible with this. Also it would really require us to have properly calibrated studio quality monitors and perfect viewing conditions.
With Zebra bars you will see the hot spots quickly. Now if the Black (contrast) and White (Brightness) Stretch controls could be modified to accept negative settings balancing the exposure on different inputs would be simplified.

Maybe a stand alone NDI app that could run on another machine that can highlight a user defined luminance band typically 60 -70% for skin tones or zebras or waveforms. This could be fed from external 2 with a remote cut bus selecting the source.
