Balanced XLR ----> Line In Audio on PC best way?

Here is my setup....

x32 soundboard XLR L & R out

need to get it into my PC

Currently using XLR turnarounds (female to female adapters) to a XLR/XLR to 1/8 TRS cable.

I get electronic noise very low level not a clean signal.


Is there a good product to get xlr into my PC?
If I use a A/D interface will I be able to use it as an audio source?

Is the an xlr compatible sound card? maybe with a breakout dongle or something?

any ideas? lessons learned? experience gained?

love some help. this is for live music recording

Behringer x32 has USB built in.

Just Install ASIO Driver and plug in USB cable from mixer to computer.

Then Add audio Input.. and select x32.

The "electronic noise very low level" is caused by earth path, you need a Audio isolation transformer.

keep this $25 Behringer hum buster in your toolkit. https://www.amazon.com/g...06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I used this for a church with an audio system that had hum due to cable crossings that I could not get to. It removed the hum immediately. Just hook it from the mixer out to the PC in.

Desmar, this solution did work for me. At least in testing. Next show is tonight.
I am using the UtrackX32 card and the software did allow me to isolate 2 outputs from the X32 as L&R.
There was still noise on the signal but I set the noise gate at -95db and it keeps the signal silent. Will see what happens during show.

DWAM, I searched and searched for XLR -> 1/8 TRS DIs but only found one possible off the shelf solution. 99% go the opposite direction.

I will update this post after tonight's show.

I use an x32 Rack connected to the PC via USB as my sound interface for vMix.

It is amazing.

You can send the main mix to vMix (as mixed in the x32) OR you can bring each input into vMix individually.

You can also send audio from vMix into the X32 for output to PA speakers.

the BEST thing about the x32 is it's auto-mix feature. IF you have multiple mics it mutes other mics when someone is speaking reducing echo and improves sound quality.

I think the x32 is the best possible sound interface (via USB) you can get.

It's a bit complicated to get settings right, but once you do, it's great.

ONLY use the USB, don't output analogue audio back to your PC.

I also have a Dante card. But you need another program to program and route audio. I just find USB to be easier.
