Hi, everyone, Just wanted to share our progress with Scoreboard OCR application that we have been developing for last several months. Still quite many bugs to fix and features to implement, but the first field tests are optimistic. Here is a small demonstration video: My belief is that this application can be good, if only we get a lot of feedback from you (there is sucha a variety of scoreboards and there are so many additional factors that can impact the quality of digit recognition), therefore Im doing everything I can to produce a demo version. You can sign up here, if this is something you migth be interested in: http://www.scoreboard-ocr.com/Arturs

Great, the demo is awesome.
What hardware do you recommend for your OCR?
Will you be able to launch the software before starting new Women Euroleague season? :)
(I'm already signed up to beta)

(I'm already signed up to beta) Basically, you can use any cheap camera for this (except shutter speed option 50/60 might be useful). We are currently using vMix External 2 (so it can be any video device) and we also have been testing some cheap IP cameras, that provide low latency (200-400ms) RTSP stream. I wish I could set a launch date, but it would be wrong to promise soemthing Im not sure I can deliver. AV

The first version used most of the CPU resources, but now we have got them down no 5-10% of an average Intel i7 laptop. We still need to decrease the CPU usage and increase the rescognition frame rate to be able to support 1/10 of second recognition. Plus I my goal is that the same computer can be used for live production and live encoding/streaming.

Im happy to report that we are one step closer and you can try out the Scoreboard OCR yourself at IBC (Hall 6, Stand C12, opposite of vMix and Bird-dog) ! More information: http://scoreboard-ocr.comArturs P.S. I will try to keep some beers in the fridge, because I know how dry you can get spending all day at IBC.

When will it be available for demo? We're looking to purchase something as soon as possible.

I believe you should release a demo now while the iron is hot, you can always add patches and features as go and before some other development company jumps on the bandwagon. Great work so far and think now is great time for release unless its crashing? We have great forum community here who can provide instant feedback and offer improvements to make it the best ocr solution to use with Vmix.

We have been live streaming games already and are looking for a product that can do exactly this. Impatiently Waiting for a beta. Very excited! :)

Hello, Drundurs.
I work with VMix 17 and a BlackMagic Duo 2 capture card. I currently use a Panasonic 81 HD camcorder to capture information from a basketball scoreboard. But I would like to be able to use an OCR program to digitize them and incorporate that information into a .xaml extension file.
Thank you.

How's this project going? Been a fair delay since last update and still no release or a demo.

Hey guys, I spoke with the developer via email on 20171126 and was told that they will not release beta until some issues with vibration, lighting changes, temporary camera blockage is fixed. Any update would be appreciated, but we should also be patient. :)

My apologies for not getting back. The digit recognition alone works fine, but external factors (changing light, people jumping around the camera, input required from the user to adjust image) sometimes have huge impact on recognition, in some cases producing bad results. Therefore its cruicial to deal with those factors automatically and minimize user input required at any point of time, otherwise this application cannot be used in real life without help from expert / additional support.
At the same time we are testing rigorously (since we are also a production company with ~200 live productions per month), so we have this covered internally in alpha stage.
