Is it possible to reassign the Audio Device assigned in a camera input after the input has been created?
This is a multi-cam preset in which I want to always use the audio from the same camera (except when switching to movie files). On a multi-cam preset I am running the audio from one camera to the computer's line-in port, and for each Camera Input selecting "Line In" as the Audio Device and "Automatic mix audio" in the General tab.
This seems to work well. However, there may be times when I wish to change the Audio Device from Line In to a different camera's audio or some other audio source but I don't see a way to edit that. Am I missing something, or is the input designed to not be able to change the Audio Device for a reason?
Thank you.
[I could mention that I opted to not use the audio embedded in HDMI because follow audio did not work consistently, especially when switching back from a movie file playing its own audio.]

When using Follow Audio, did you uncheck/untick the box in Audio Settings? From vMix User Guide: Quote:Automatically mix audio
By default vMix will automatically swap the active audio to match the active input. If this box is unticked, vMix will leave the audio as is and any changes will need to be done manually.
For temporary fixes you could also: --add the HDMI audio as a separate Audio Input and use one of the Overlay channels to keep the audio on. --create a Shortcut that turns on audio embedded in HDMI on the camera that's your primary source for audio. Then edit your other Shortcuts that switch to movie file playback, cameras, other inputs with Advanced to add the HDMI audio On shortcut to them. Every time you switch sources, it should turn the audio back on.

Thank you. Yes, I am using the follow audio function correctly. Let me shorten and update my question. Let's say in a 2-cam preset I am using the audio embedded in cam1 HDMI for both cams. Is it possible to edit the Audio Device after the Camera Input has been created? It seems that you can select the Audio Device when creating the Camera Input, but that you can't change it to another Audio Device at a later time. Is that correct? For example, if I needed to switch both cams to the embedded HDMI audio from cam2, could I do that directly? It would just make sense to me (as a new user) that we should be able to access the Audio Device selection dropdown menu and make a different selection. I'm just asking if I'm not seeing how to do it, or if vMix is just not designed to do that? Quote: For temporary fixes you could also:

Thanks for the tips for using separate audio input and shortcuts. I haven't dug in to shortcuts yet.

Well, don't I feel stupid (as I answer my own question below)? ANSWER: Clicking the Change button allows you to reconfigure all of the Camera Input dropdowns including Audio Device. Special thanks to those on the forum who sat back watching me twist in the wind, confident that I would eventually figure this out and confess in humiliation to having missed the Change function. bluesgeek wrote:My rambling question regarding using Camera Input distilled to a point… bluesgeek wrote:Is it possible to edit the Audio Device after the Camera Input has been created?
